Prudence “Prue” Beidler
Prue Beidler has volunteered and served on the board of directors for non-profit organizations in both Chicago and her hometown of Lake Forest for over 40 years. She began her career as a Chicago Public School teacher after receiving a Bachelor in Arts from Wellesley College and an Master of Studies in Education from University of Chicago. Most recently, she served six years as alderman in Lake Forest.
Beidler grew up hearing about Mies van der Rohe as a major influence of her father, Ambrose Madison Richardson (ARCH ‘39), who studied with Mies at Illinois Institute of Technology. Part of her enjoyment of serving on the Mies van der Rohe Society Board is the connection it offers with her father and his work with Mies.
