Alex Krikhaar (B.ARCH. ‘91, M.S. ‘94), AIA
Alex Krikhaar is principal at Vinci Hamp Architects, Inc., the successor firm of Office of John Vinci, Inc. where he started as a Project Architect in 1994. Born and raised in the Netherlands, Krikhaar served in the Corps of Engineers of the Dutch Army prior to coming to the United States to study architecture. Krikhaar completed his Bachelor of Architecture in 1991, followed by a Master of Architecture in 1994, at Illinois Institute of Technology. His graduate thesis was guided by Myron Goldsmith and John Vinci as advisers.
Krikhaar is a member of the Board of Directors for The Arts Club of Chicago. To mark its 100th anniversary, he designed the Drawing Room with inspiration from Mies van der Rohe (who originally designed the interior of the building).
